Sustainable water management is essential in our time. We are all responsible for preserving and protecting the water. Therefore, as plastic pipes industry, it is important not only to offer certified materials and products of guaranteed quality, but also to ensure their installation is done properly.

A deficient installation may contribute to the appearance of breakages, as well as infiltrations and leaks, with the consequent damage to the quality of the water.

With the aim of improving quality in installation AseTUB (the Spanish association of plastic pipes and fittings manufacturers) put in place in 2004 a training program to qualify installers for the installation of plastic pipes in water supply, sewage and irrigation systems through practical training courses. 

These specialised hands-on courses are carried out in recognised training centres and implemented in collaboration with the main water companies in Spain.

The four-day training, conducted by experienced instructors, involves both theory and installation practices for PVC-U, PVC-O, PE, PP and GRP piping systems. The comprehensive program includes: material properties, product standards, product range, jointing techniques… and covers the entire installation process from the product reception, its placing in the trench and burying, to the commissioning of the network. AseTUB installation handbook, provided as training material, contains recommendations based on accepted codes of practice, standards of work and knowledge gained over the years.

More than 200 courses have been organised and over 1.800 installers have been qualified and accredited with AseTUB professional card as specialised installers.

This accreditation meets the need for skilled plastic pipes layers and is more and more requested by water management entities.

As plastic pipes industry committed to quality is not only important to provide with certified pipes and fittings but also to install those products correctly.
